Shared Mission Helps Individuals Lead MORE Fulfilling Lives

Founded more than 30 years ago by Capital District physicians, CDPHP is a not-for-profit, community-based health plan serving more than 460,000 members in 24 counties throughout upstate New York.

“CDPHP takes seriously our responsibility to promote the health, vibrancy, and quality of life in the communities we serve. That is why we are proud to support The Sage Colleges, which shares our mission of empowering individuals with the tools, information, and resources they need to live healthier, more fulfilling lives,” said John D. Bennett, M.D., president and CEO, CDPHP.

Why MORE? Why Now?

In recent years, CDPHP has taken its relationship with The Sage Colleges to a new level, in part because of its relationship with Sage’s president, Susan Scrimshaw, Ph.D., who is nationally recognized in the field of public health. President Scrimshaw serves on the CDPHP Board of Directors, and like the leadership at CDPHP, is a tireless advocate for better health, better care, and lower costs.

CDPHP has partnered with The Sage Colleges on a number of important initiatives, including:

  •  The Sage Nutrition Lecture Series, which is now in its fourth year. This series of public forums has tackled a number of intriguing and relevant topics in the field of nutrition science.
  •  For many years, CDPHP has been a proud sponsor of the college’s Corporate Connections Scholarship Program, which has provided vital financial assistance to more than1,000 Sage students.
  • The CDPHP Endowed Fund for the Health Sciences was created in 2015, to support faculty development and scholarships for these programs.
  • CDPHP president and CEO John Bennett, M.D., delivered the commencement address to The Sage Colleges’ graduating class of 2014.

“CDPHP believes in The Sage Colleges because we know what the institution stands for: that is, the promise of a bright future with increased opportunities; service to the community; and a commitment to a place we both call ‘home,’” said Dr. Bennett. “We hope that you will join us in supporting The Sage Colleges in its quest to enrich lives for the next 100 years!”
